Youth Ministry

Welcome!

We are so glad you have found us! At Stockton Baptist Church we have the privilege of serving and being home to a wonderful, dynamic, vibrant group of young people who represent school years 7 to 13.

We meet several times each week for a number of activities .

We keep in touch throughout the week via our WhatsApp groups and share how we are doing in life and school.

If you would like more information, please email: matt.pryor@stocktonbaptistchurch.co.uk

What we do

Tuesdays: As a youth group we meet every Tuesday evening to catch up over snacks and hot chocolate, followed by games, a Bible study and small group discussions.

Sundays: We also meet on Sunday mornings during the service to follow the sermon series planned for that term.

Socials: Alongside these weekly gatherings we also regularly meet up for socials such as walks in the hills, along the river, meeting at coffee shops, church games nights and so on.

See the events list below for upcoming activities.

Email the team or check the events to see our social programme and receive further information about our weekly groups.

Mentoring

Our mentoring programme aims to do two things. Firstly, to provide the young person with the opportunity to be discipled and learn from a member of our church family who has been a Christian longer and can serve them in this way. Secondly to bridge the gap between the youngest generation and the older generations, creating family that crosses the generations.

Holidays

We annually make a trip to Knock, a Christian residential centre situated in the middle of the Yorkshire dales. We spend time in chapel every morning and evening to worship, pray and be challenged before hitting the hills with walks, games, hide and seek, night-time hikes and enjoying the gorgeous views and countryside air. We all gain so much from these times together, youth team included.

We also take a group of our young people to do a mission trip abroad and have recently been going to Uganda to serve on a short-term mission trip. Again, our young people thrive in these environments, learn so much and can experience being a blessing to some of the neediest people in our world.

Our Hopes

Our hope and prayer is to play a part in raising strong, faith-filled individuals who feel equipped with knowledge, full of the Holy Spirit, closer to Jesus and passionate about their God given mission and purpose for their lives. We want to send them into the world whether it be a gap year, university, apprenticeships, or a job we hope to send them out with un-compromising faith and fierce compassion.
