Refugee and Asylum Seeker (RAS) Administrator


Stockton Baptist Church (SBC) is a large and thriving Church in central Stockton-on-Tees. We are currently looking for someone to join our team as Administrator to support the RAS work at the church, which attracts a significant number of asylum seekers and refugees.


  • To support the current RAS work at SBC through Drop -ins, English classes, lunches, linking people into appropriate specialist services and offering pastoral support.
  • To work with the RAS management group to develop services that will facilitate personal development and integration of RAS friends into the community.
  • To develop the profile of the RAS work through social media

This is a part-time role (15 hours per week) The normal working week will be 2 working days, one of which must be a Monday. There will be occasional evening duties to attend and take minutes for the management group, for which time may be taken in lieu.

The rate of pay is £10.42 and includes 10 days holiday each year (equivalent to 5 working weeks) plus the pro rata equivalent of Bank holidays.

This role carries a General Occupational Requirement (GOR) to be a Christian.

We are looking for a Catering Assistant to act as a back up to our regular staff.

They will work on the basis of a zero hour contract, on minimum hourly wage, to cover the expected and unexpected staff shortages during holidays, sickness or special events.

The job would suit someone who does not want regular employment.
